As a boutique wine estate, Duikersdrift embraces the beauty and craftsmanship of small-batch, hand-crafted wines. With an exclusive annual production of fewer than 2,000 bottles, our philosophy centers on quality over quantity, ensuring every bottle reflects the distinctive character of our remarkable terroir.
Our farm’s gently undulating terrain, enriched with ancient alluvial sandstone boulder beds and well-drained Oakleaf and Fernwood soils, provides the perfect foundation for cultivating wines of exceptional quality, brought to life by our expert winemaker, Dirk Swanepoel. Each sip tells a story of craftsmanship, passion, and a deep connection to the land.

A Symbol of Wine & Celebration
Each Duikersdrift wine is named after one of our donkeys, reflecting their individual personalities and honouring them as the original custodians of the farm. In Greek mythology, the donkey is linked to Dionysus – the god of wine, viticulture, fertility, and joyful celebration – making it a fitting symbol for our wines.

Aurora OLD VINE CHENIN BLANC
Grape Varieties: 100% Chenin Blanc
W.O. Citrusdal
Whole-bunch pressed and wild-fermented in 4th-fill French oak, and aged for eight months on fine lees.
Tasting Notes:
Concentrated flavours from the small berries of a 40 year old bush vine vineyard in Citrusdal. This wine exhibits fine depth and character, showing an abundance of tropical and stone fruits, most notably white peach, supported by a flinty minerality. A rich and creamy mouthfeel balanced by fresh, natural acidity and a persistent and defined finish.

Lunary Syrah
Grape Varieties: 100% Shiraz
W.O. Tulbagh
From vineyard to bottle, this delightful, vibrantly-coloured Syrah pays homage to the origins of this varietal, honouring a more delicate and refined style over Shiraz’s typical bold, peppery notes.
Tasting Notes:
A fresh, linear Syrah wine with candied mulberry and lingonberry notes. Juicy on the palate with fine-grained tannins that offer structure without overpowering the fruit-driven flavour-profile.

Orion Cabernet Sauvignon / Shiraz
Grape Varieties: 67% Cabernet Sauvignon, 33% Shiraz
W.O. Citrusdal
A robust, bold, full-bodied cabernet sauvignon shiraz blend with plenty of structure and character.
Tasting Notes:
This classic blend showcases the dominant Cabernet influence with a rich spectrum of blackberry, black currant, and cassis, complemented by the subtle tropical notes of Shiraz.

Venus Cape Ruby
Grape Varieties: 100% Shiraz
W.O. Tulbagh
A fortified wine is crafted from hand-selected Shiraz berries and aged for 10 months in French oak. Less sweet than traditional fortified wines.
Tasting Notes:
A ruby coloured port-style wine that is elegantly smooth and fruity – a vibrant mix of tropical fruit, dried prunes and plums. Enjoyed chilled, or as is.
