Important Information For Your Visit
To ensure an enjoyable stay for all of our guests, please take note of the important information below.
Terms
House Rules
- Check-in is from 2pm - 5pm. Late check-in by prior arrangement only.
- Check-out is at 10am.
- Our cottage staff are available daily until 5pm for any purchases or rental requests. They can be reached via the cottage reservations number. Please note that staff are only available after hours for emergencies and issues with geysers, electricity, or appliances.
- Kindly note that the restaurant and cottages are independently owned and managed. Should you need anything during your stay, please contact cottage reservations on the number provided upon check-in. Please note that restaurant and cottage accounts will need to be settled separately.
- As we are situated in a high fire risk area, do not leave fires or cigarettes unattended. Ensure that fires and hot coals are extinguished with water before going to bed, and that cigarettes are properly extinguished in the ashtrays provided. Ensure that children do not have access to matches and lighters, and are not left unattended around fires.
- We regret no pets are allowed in our cottages. However, we welcome restaurant guests to bring well-behaved and well-socialized dogs for outdoor seating. Please ensure that dogs are kept on a leash, and remember to clean up after your furry companions.
- The swimming pool is exclusively available for use by overnight guests. We kindly request that restaurant guests respect all designated areas reserved for overnight guest use as indicated by the signs. Appropriate swimwear must be worn in the pool area at all times.
- For the comfort and security of our guests, only registered guests are permitted in the cottages and no visitors are allowed, unless with prior arrangement and approval by management.
- No smoking is permitted inside of the cottages and other interior spaces. Due to fire risk, all guests and visitors may only smoke in designated smoking areas and must make use of the ashtrays provided.
- Please make sure that no litter, including cigarette butts, is left anywhere on the farm.
- Please respect the peace and quiet for all guests. No loud noise or loud music is permitted in the cottages.
- The use of open-flame, such as candles, in the cottages is strictly prohibited.
- While we trust that you'll exercise care during your stay, we reserve the right to invoice you for any damage or breakages which we consider to be deliberately or recklessly caused, missing items, and/or the cost of the cottage for any period in which the room is deemed unusable due to damage.
- The use of glitter and confetti at functions is unfortunately not permitted.
Terms
Safety
- The speed limit on the farm is 20km/h - please watch out for other vehicles, pedestrians, children, and animals.
- Please be aware that our swimming pool has a depth of 1.8 meters and is not covered or supervised. For the safety of children, parental supervision is required at all times near the pool area. Additionally, we request that no glass objects be brought into the pool for the safety of all individuals.
- We have several resident farm animals, including donkeys, cows, and horses. To ensure the safety of both guests and animals, guests are not permitted to enter the animal paddocks. Children who would like to visit the farm animals should do so under adult supervision.
- Parents and/or guardians are responsible for the supervision and safety of children in their care at all times.
- Guests must observe all warning signs and follow any instructions provided by Management. Non-compliance may result in immediate removal from the premises at Management’s discretion, without refund.
- Snakes are present on our farm, as is typical in many parts of South Africa. While snake sightings are infrequent and the risk of bites is low, we advise guests to watch where they walk, stay on designated paths, and avoid walking through tall grass to minimize the possibility of encountering a snake.
- Duikersdrift is an operational olive and wine farm. Guests should please be aware of agricultural activity taking place on the premises, including the movement of workers, vehicles, and machinery. Farming operations may, at times, occur outside of standard working hours.
Terms
Payment
- 50% deposit is required at the time of booking to secure the booking.
- The remaining 50% is due 7 days prior to the date of arrival. A system generated reminder will be sent via email to the email adress provided to us. Please ensure that this payment is made on time
- Reservations made less than 10 days prior to the date of arrival will require 100% payment.
- Payments can be made via EFT or credit card. We regret that American Express or Diners Club cards are not accepted.
Credit/Debit Card Payments (Direct Bookings & Booking.com)
- We kindly request the following to meet bank requirements for verification and to help prevent fraud and chargebacks:
- Please submit a photo or scan (via email at res@duikersdrift.com or WhatsApp at +27 (0)66 236 4122) of the front of the card used for payment, ensuring only the first 6 and last 4 digits are visible.
- Additionally, please submit a photo or scan (via email or WhatsApp) a copy of the cardholder’s ID or passport, ensuring that the name matches the name on the card.
- All personal and payment-related information submitted is treated as strictly confidential and is used exclusively for booking verification and administrative record-keeping.
EFT/bank transfer payments
- For EFT payments, please make payment to the banking details provided on your invoice.
- Your payment reference must be your Booking ID (beginning with “NB-”) to ensure proper allocation.
- Please email your proof of payment to res@duikersdrift.com.
Terms
Cancellation & Postponement
- All cancellations and/ or amendments must be made in writing and sent to res@duikersdrift.com.
- If cancelling 7 days before arrival, forfeit 100% of the booking total.
- If cancelling 14 days before arrival, forfeit 50% of the booking total.
- No shows will be charged 100% of the booking total.
- In the event of a premature departure, the full extent of the stay as originally booked and confirmed will be charged.
- Please note that credit/debit card processing fees are non-refundable. In the case of cancellations or refunds, only the booking value, excluding transaction charges, will be returned.
- Postponement requests must be submitted no less than 7 days prior to the scheduled arrival date. Requests received within 7 days of arrival will be treated as cancellations, and the standard cancellation policy will apply, including forfeiture of 100% of the booking total. All postponements are subject to availability and may be subject to an additional administrative fee.
- Duikersdrift Winelands Country Escape reserves the right to cancel any booking forthwith and without incurring any liability in the event of force majeure or other circumstances beyond its reasonable control. Such circumstances shall include, but not be limited to, any event or condition that renders it impossible or impracticable for the establishment to perform its obligations in connection with the booking.
Terms
General
- Rates are per cottage, per night and are subject to change without prior notice. We reserve the right to alter or amend tariffs and tariff periods without prior notice.
- Guests must provide a valid and reachable phone number when making a reservation with Duikersdrift. This information will be used solely for purposes related to your booking and to facilitate smooth communication throughout your stay.
- The right of admission to this private property is reserved. We thus reserve the right to refuse entry to, decline accommodation to and to expel any persons for misconduct or any reason we, in our sole view, deem reasonable.
- It is strongly advised that all guests take out adequate insurance cover such as cancellation due to illness, accident, or injury. Personal accident and personal liability are also recommended. Duikersdrift Winelands Country Escape will not be responsible or liable where guests failed and/ or neglected to take insurance or adequate insurance cover.
- By accessing, browsing, or using this website or any of our listings through any platform, and/or by completing a reservation, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and expressly agree to be bound by these terms and conditions, as may be amended from time to time.
- Duikersdrift Winelands Country Escape reserves the right to amend these terms & conditions at any time without prior notice, and these amendments apply to all of our listings directly or indirectly made available through any channel or platform whatsoever.
