With sweeping views of the surrounding mountains, Duikersdrift makes for one of the best picnic spots in Tulbagh. Roll out a blanket and relax on the dam lawn, or unwind at one of the secluded picnic spots nestled in the trees, and enjoy a leisurely afternoon with friends and family in the Cape Winelands. Prepared by the farm Deli using the freshest ingredients, our deliciously wholesome and hearty picnic baskets offer a ‘rustic & rural’ dining experience with options catering to foodies, couples, families, children and vegetarians. The Obiqua Deli will also happily assist with vegan and other dietary preferences if discussed and arranged in advance.
For visitors staying at self-catering establishments in the valley, or for those who have a late arrival or want something light after a full day out, Obiqua Deli also offers ‘in-room dining’ hampers. Please enquire with the Deli or your establishment for options.

Picnic Hours & Bookings
Ready to book your picnic in the Winelands? Please note the following info to make the post of your picnic experience at Duikersdrift.
- Blankets, cutlery, and glassware are included in your basket.
- Bookings must be made 24 hours in advance.
- Picnics are available daily.
- Baskets can be collected from Obiqua Café Deli between 10:30am and 5pm. Please note that our farm picnic area closes at 5:30pm.
- All baskets must be returned to Obiqua Café by 5:30pm.
A deposit is required to reserve a picnic basket, which is refundable when the basket, picnic equipment and blanket are returned in good order.
In the event of rainy weather, you have the option to either change your date (min. 24 hours advance notice required) or enjoy your picnic basket as a tasty takeaway.
Telephonic bookings are preferred as email enquiries are subject to a 48-hour response time over busy periods.
