Shan and Shane were incredible hosts. Nothing was too much trouble. We loved our view from our balcony. They have the park run on Saturday what a hi-light running through olive trees vineyards and forests. Beds amazingly comfortable and pillows.

Peaceful luxury stay in a beautiful mountain view setting. The cottage was spacious very comfortable with every facility and amazing picture window with view of the valley and mountains beyond. So quiet only noise is from the guinea fowl. A little bonus is the laid out path round the property to run or walk. The restaurant on site is great quality and value for money as demonstrated by so many locals using it creating a warm friendly atmosphere. Shane and Shayne make wonderful host and nothing is too much trouble for them.

We visited Tulbagh on a rainy winter’s week. Our hotel’s choice could not have been any better. The room was very comfortable, private and with beautiful views, and nicely heated by an efficient fireplace.
The staff and owners are always friendly and helpful. The restaurant is good. I would not hesitate to go back there! A really nice place to stay.

SELF-DRIVE GUESTS

Duikersdrift Winelands Country Escape is easily accessed when following the detailed directions provided. The route and entrance to the farm is well sign-posted. Shaded parking is available on-site and our guided tours are still offered for those with their own vehicles.

Location from

CAPE TOWN CITY CENTRE, VIA WELLINGTON

  • Take the N1, northbound, from Cape Town towards Paarl.
  • Exit the N1 at junction 47, onto R44 sign-posted Stellenbosch/Klapmuts/Wellington. Turn left at the off-ramp junction towards Wellington (R44).
  • Continue on R44 towards Wellington and after 21,5km continue straight at the 4-way stop.
  • After about 3km turn left at a set of traffic lights into Distillery Road – this is a continuation of the R44.
  • Continue for 1,5km and then go straight through 2 sets of traffic lights.
  • Continue straight and after 41,5km there will be the Gouda / Porterville R44 turn to the left. Go straight.
  • The R44 now becomes the R46 after the turn left to Gouda and proceeds towards Ceres, entering the Nuwekloof Pass.
  • 2km after passing through the Nuwekloof Pass, turn left at the Tulbagh sign.
  • Continue 1.5km and turn left at the Rhodes Food Group / La Rhone sign.
  • After 3km you will come to a junction with Montpellier Wine Estate on the left. Cross over the tar road onto the dirt track.
  • After 2,2km, turn left at the white entrance wall and gates into Duikersdrift.

Location from

CAPE TOWN AIRPORT, VIA WELLINGTON

  • Follow the N2 signs from the airport and then after 1km take the N2 Somerset West exit.
  • Travel eastwards on the N2 and after 6km take the R300 Bellville exit.
  • Stay on this main road for 17km until taking the #27 exit to the N1 Paarl / Worcester.
  • After 21,5km take #47 exit from the N1, sign-posted R44 Stellenbosch/Klapmuts/Wellington. Turn left at the off-ramp junction towards Wellington (R44).
  • Continue on R44 towards Wellington and after 21,5km continue straight at the 4-way stop.

We can arrange road transfers to and from Cape Town.  Please contact us for details and costs.

On-site activities include walks/hiking, mountain biking (bikes available), fishing, rustic farm tennis, rustic farm croquet, bird-watching, viewing of farm animals.  There is also a swimming pool and children’s play area.
